Edouard Menta: Carnaval de Nice. 106 x 74cms (c.42 x 29 inches). Mounted on linen. Vertical tear from top to bottom which has been restored so that it is not immediately obvious. There is also some loss at the bottom of the poster. The poster was first issued in 1898 with that date shown below the word ‘Nice’. It was obviously decided to use the same image for a later year, so the date was removed, as in the above example. Probably c. 1900 – 1905.
