Carton Moore Park: Donkey. Grisaille. 47.5 x 37cms (c. 19 x 10.5 inches). Unsigned; dated in the margin Jan. 1900. Very much in the style of his Alphabet of Animals, published the same year by Blackie. Park (I have seen his name spelt Moore-Park & Moorepark) was a Glasgow artist who illustrated several books around the turn of the century. His illustrations always have a quirky outlook.
