John Armstrong: Fishes plate for Foley c.1934. 18cms diameter. This was designed for the Harrod’s Exhibition of 1934, featuring ceramics by a host of Modern British artists.  I believe there were only 12  services of each design produced for the exhibition. Those are marked ‘FIRST EDITION’. Although the exhibition was not a great success, the most popular services were issued commercially, but without the ‘FIRST EDITION’ mark. This is one of those issued commercially, but still a rare item.
