George Walker: Woman making oatcakes. Hand-coloured aquatint from The Costume of Yorkshire. 255 x 365mm. Foxing mark on bottom margin. Published by Robinson & Son Leeds Oct. 1st, 1813. The Costume of Yorkshire was originally issued in 10 monthly parts of 4 plates each from 1st August 1813 to 1 June 1814 with the exception of 1 May 1814. When it was first published in bookform in 1814, the publisher had changed to Robinson Son & Holdsworth, so this plate is from the original part, not the book.
