Graham Sutherland: Foley cup & Saucer, rose pattern. Cup 10cms diameter, 6cms high, saucer 14.5cms diameter. This design was done for the Harrods Exhibition in 1934. At that exhibition I believe only 12 services of each pattern were produced, each piece marked ‘FIRST EDITION’. Although the exhibition was not particularly successful, some services were still produced, as here, although not with the ‘FIRST EDITION’ mark. Excellent condition.
